NutriSystem Update

by Lisa Rosen on April 22, 2010

Oh, hello hipbones! I remember you.  I’m glad to see you’re losing your winter padding.  Welcome back!

In case you don’t remember what I weighed in January (because why would you?  I had to look it up myself), I’m down ten pounds since we got our handy-dandy Withings scale–seven pounds since Delaney and I started NutriSystem.  That was four weeks ago today.  I’m very happy about it–my clothes are no longer cutting off my circulation.  Soon they might even be comfortable again.

Delaney is also down about seven pounds, and Lee and I are both immensely proud of her.  She’s away this week, on a 3-day class trip to Philadelphia; I’m a little concerned about how she’s going to handle the food while she’s gone.  We’ve both finding it pretty easy to shed weight–as long as we actually stick to the plan.  She’s not going to have much control over what she eats on this trip, and will just have to rely on her own willpower to manage how much she eats.  That’s pretty challenging even for an adult.

I’m trying not to worry about it, though.  If there’s one thing that middle-age has taught me, it’s perspective.  Tomorrow is a new day, and if Delaney gets home from her trip and finds that the diet has come to a screeching halt, well, she’ll just wake up on Saturday and get back on the plan.

Gotta run–it’s snack time!
